Floors made of synthetic resin are true all-rounders. They are extremely robust, easy to clean and have a classy look thanks to their seamless surface. In the past, their application was mainly limited to commercial kitchens, factory halls and multi-storey car parks. Now, they are increasingly found in private living space. The trend towards minimalist design and the home decor styles that go along with it have contributed to this development. Industrial style furniture in particular goes very well with a synthetic resin floor, especially if it imitates the look of concrete. In addition, various decorative materials can be incorporated into the synthetic resin compound. Very popular are, for instance, so-called stone carpets, consisting of tiny pebbles mixed with synthetic resin as a binder. It is also possible to mix synthetic resin with sand. In no time at all, a “sunny beach” can be laid in your bathroom that brings back memories of your last vacation.

So there are many good reasons to lay a synthetic resin floor in your private rooms. However, it is better to leave this work to a professional floor layer. He knows the different properties of synthetic resins and will choose products that are tailored to the conditions on site. Before applying the liquid resin, the surface must be absolutely smooth, even and clean. Otherwise, the floor layer will carry out appropriate levelling measures.

Naturally, the synthetic resins used in your home should be free of pollutants. Products that have been awarded the EMICODE® EC1 quality seal meet the world’s most stringent emission limits. Before they receive the certificate, the products are tested by independent laboratories using the test chamber method. Regular spot checks, carried out by independent experts and testing institutes without advance notice, monitor long-term compliance with the limit values.
