Server-Log-Dateien
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which are automatically transmitted by your browser. These are:
– IP address
– user agent
– referrer
– Date and time and type of request
The legal basis for this is the provision of Art. 6 para.1 lit. f (legitimate interest) DSGVO. Our concern in terms of the DSGVO (legitimate interest) is to enable error analysis and audit security as well as the optimization of our online offering and our website. This data is automatically deleted after 30 days.
A combination of this data with other data sources is not made.
Cookies
(1) Cookies may be used on this website. A cookie is a small text file that is sent by www servers when an Internet page is visited and stored on the hard disk of the respective user. If the corresponding server is called up again, the user’s browser sends the previously received cookie back to the server. The server can then evaluate the information obtained through this procedure in various ways. Cookies can, for example, make it easier to navigate an Internet page or allow configurations to be saved.
(2) For the purpose of assigning and verifying browser requests, session cookies may be used on the server side. These are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. If the user uses the “stay logged in” option, the storage period is up to one week. Cookies are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Our concern is the error-free and optimized provision of our online offer and our web presence.
(3) In addition, cookies are also used that do not collect any personal data or any personal information about the user, so that it is not possible for the operator to identify the user with the information obtained using the cookies.
(4) The User can prevent the storage of cookies on his terminal device by selecting “do not accept cookies” in his browser settings. He can also set his browser so that it asks whether the user agrees before cookies are set.
(5) Once cookies have been set, they can be deleted manually at any time.
(6) If the user does not accept cookies, this may lead to functional restrictions of the website in individual cases.
Social media – “Recommend page” function
Our website makes it easier for users of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIN, XING) to recommend a GEV page in these social networks by including links marked by corresponding symbols.
By clicking on the corresponding links, you will leave the GEV website and go to the website of the respective social media platform. A data exchange with the aforementioned social media operators only takes place if the corresponding icon button is clicked. If you click on such an icon button, a page of the corresponding social media operator opens in a pop-up window. We point out that already through this, but in any case after logging in on a social media platform, a data transmission between the user and the provider of the social media platform may take place. We have no knowledge of what data is transmitted to the respective providers in individual cases by activating the links and for what purposes the data is used there.
eTracker
To analyze usage data, we use services of etracker GmbH, Erste Brunnenstraße 1, 20459 Hamburg. In doing so, no cookies are used for web analysis by default. Insofar as we use analysis and optimization cookies, we obtain your explicit consent separately in advance. If this is the case and you consent, cookies are used to enable statistical coverage analysis of this website, measurement of the success of our online marketing measures, and test procedures, for example, to test and optimize different versions of our online offering or its components. ETracker cookies do not contain any information that enables identification of a user.
The data generated with eTracker is processed by eTracker exclusively in Germany. The data processing is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO (legitimate interest). Our concern is the optimization of our online offer and our web presence. No other use, combination with other data or transfer to third parties will take place. You can object to the aforementioned data processing at any time.

Friendly Captcha
We use the Friendly Captcha widget as part of our contact form. This sends a puzzle request, thereby ensuring that the request originates from a human and protecting us from spam. The legal basis for this use is Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO (our legitimate interest).
Friendly Captcha collects the following log data in the process: the request headers User-Agent, Origin and Referer; the puzzle itself, which contains information about the account and website key to which the puzzle refers; the version of the widget,; a timestamp.
Friendly Captcha stores an anonymized counter per IP address to dynamically scale puzzle difficulty on the Edge network to detect malicious users and minimize blocking of legitimate users. This data is stored separately from the rest of the data and cannot be associated with specific websites. Friendly Captcha anonymizes IP addresses via one-way hashing so that they cannot be personally identified.
